The House
Barn Owl Barn is our second home in south-west France. It is a charming, 260 year old barn situation in a tiny hamlet, set in a private, walled south-facing courtyard and with exclusive use of its own completely private swimming pool. The house has been renovated with a new kitchen, en-suite bathrooms and all modern amenities, but still retains its original delightful character. To the rear, there is a sunny morning patio, surrounded by fragrant climbing plants and shrubs, leading onto a lawn with a further garden backing onto rolling farmland, often planted with sunflowers. For wild-life lovers, hoopoes nest in the hamlet, and are frequently seen on the lawn in the rear garden along with red squirrels and even the occasional deer. Many species of owl inhabit the big orchard just across the lane and can be heard on summer nights in the courtyard.
